You should be able to step away from your business, without it immediately falling apart at the seams. 

The main reason I go on and on and ON about the importance of systems is because LIFE will be LIFE-ING and you can’t be everywhere at once to do everything manually.

I hit a huge milestone

I’m gonna be so real for a second: I booked out my July before the end of June, and that’s quite literally the first time that has ever happened in my own business.

I still work a full time job “on the side,” that I desperately want to quit to go full time with Worksimple, so I was SO excited when this happened bc it’s a HUGE step in that direction.

And then life lifed.

A friend of my husband’s passed away unexpectedly. I had to rebook a few podcast interviews and take time off Worksimple and my day job to travel for the funeral.

Suddenly, I was behind on the FIRST WEEK of the busiest month ever in my business, and my podcast launch was literally DURING the funeral.

I was hotspotting in the car, editing my podcast, and uploading it at 7am, and it still posted late. I was threads-ing and Canva-ing and Insgtagramming right up until I had to get dressed. 

Which is not how I prefer to show up in my business OR in my life when it needs my full presence. 

I thought I had it all under control, until my systems broke down

The podcast and its respective posts went up eventually, and my clients were made aware of potential delays. 

Perfect!! 

Except then I got like 5 emails from clients saying they couldn’t pay their invoices. Any email from me was flagged as a security risk. All the links sent to clients and leads in my automated emails wouldn’t open.

My CRM decided THIS WAS THE TIME to have a mental and physical breakdown 💀

I was having to manually send new invoice links, questionnaires, and respond to emails and calls like

“Hi, I build systems to support you when you have to be out unexpectedly, but mine are sucking at the moment”

It’s both not a good look and not a good feeling.

I ended up having to start migrating CRMs over 4th of July weekend, while catching up on client work, and trying to stay on top of all the things.

And I’m very fortunate that this is what I do, because switching CRMs is a LOT of work.

It’s overwhelming, time-consuming, and it always needs to happen when you have the LEAST amount of time.

And that’s why having someone set up your crm for you rocks.

Honestly, I wish I could hire me right now to do this for me while I focus on my client work 😅
